First things first: primary school

Children of Cofradía, La Nogalera and Suchitlàn

Children of ColimaWithout scholarships from Project Amigo, the schooling of many children in these rural villages will end at or before 6th grade. With your donations, Project Amigo opens up a new future for these children, one in which they will work with their minds, not their backs. You, too, can sponsor a child’s education.

Children in the Colima Rotary Club’s Colonia Rotaria

Colonia Rotaria is a neighborhood of 50 homes built for poor and homeless families with funds from a Rotary matching grant between the Colima Rotary Club and Rotary Clubs in several Rotary Districts throughout the US. Children’s services offered by Project Amigo to students who live in Colonia Rotaria include:  literacy (“book of one’s own,” mini-libraries, and dictionaries); a computer lab and dental care fluoride treatments and restorative care). Each year the children attend the Project Amigo Christmas Fiesta at the Colima Rotary Club. They receive gifts of new clothing and shoes. And in February, the children enjoy a day at the beach with volunteers and Colima Rotarians.
